2011-2012 Message

My name is Mary Beth Bissell and I am the VP Medical Education for the DMSS 2011-2012.  We have had a busy year as we moved into our second year of the new Med 1 curriculum and have rolled out the first year of the new Med 2 curriculum.  Clerkship renewal is underway as well, with many changes including a pilot year of a new format of clerkship – the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship – which will have 3 students in Miramichi NB in 2012.  Med 3’s have completed their first block of clerkship and Med 4’s have just hit the submit button on their CaRMS applications.

As I reflect on the Fall term, I would like to emphasize how happy I am to see the revised Med 1 curriculum.  Feedback from the current Med 2’s has clearly been received – your voice matters at Dalhousie.  It is truly an exciting but BUSY time to be involved in medical education and it is my pleasure to participate in this position and to work for and with you toward the best Dalhousie experience possible!

Thanks everyone,

Mary Beth Bissell
