The Global Health Office of Dalhousie University and the Interagency Coalition on AIDS and Development invite you to participate in an interactive and informative workshop designed to provide students from various disciplines with an introduction to new HIV prevention technologies (NPTs), including microbicides, vaccines and pre-exposure prophylaxis, and to explore potential areas for student engagement.

 

Date and time: Friday March 4, 4-8PM and Saturday March 5, 9AM-4PM

Location: Tupper 14B2

Registration Deadline: February 23.

 

There is no cost to register. Dinner and lunch will be provided.

 

Topics covered in the workshop will include:

Ø      NPTs as part of a comprehensive response to HIV

Ø      Gender and HIV prevention

Ø      Understanding the research process and trial results

Ø      Access to NPTs, ethics of NPT research

Ø      The role of student advocacy in HIV and health research

Ø      Planning related activities on campus
