Global Health Office: Café Scientifique Series

“Global Health in Our Own Backyard”

Looking at the links between local and global health.

Some of the most vulnerable people in the world arrive in Halifax as refugees; persecuted, threatened and dispossessed of the basic determinants of physical, psychological and social wellbeing.

Moderated by John Hubert from Dalhousie University, this Cafe will provide participants with an opportunity to explore and discuss the challenges faced by refugees and refugee claimants, and the available opportunity to help in our own backyard.

Featuring:

M. Lee Cohen, QC

Chair, Board of Directors, Halifax Refugee Clinic

Julie Chamagne, LLB

Executive Director, Halifax Refugee Clinic

Former Client & Volunteer, Halifax Refugee Clinic
