Message from the President
I’m Ben— it’s nice to meet you. Welcome to the DMSS and thank you for reading; our organization has a lot to offer you as a Dalhousie Medical Student, as a peer at another institution, or as a member of the public. Our mandate is simple: we strive to support the best possible medical education for our members while bearing in mind the ways in which their interests, identities, and life circumstances complicate this experience.
We fund and deliver a wide variety of programs and they range from the very first dinner party that a new student attends during their orientation week, to academic enrichment activities, to whole evenings of theatre, dance, and music at our annual Euphoria! fundraiser.
If you’re visiting any of Dalhousie’s teaching sites as an undergraduate learner, we’re here to help! Check out our ‘Housing’ section— there may be something in the right place at the right time.
If you’re a member of the community, send us a message at [email protected]. We’re always looking for partnerships that fit our mandate. Though our membership is limited to about 550 current students, our audience extends into thousands of Dalhousie alumni, faculty, and prospective students.
Finally, since you’ve read this far, I’ll say one more thing: we’re nothing without your engagement. Come to a meeting, join a committee, plan an event, or show up! We’re teeing up for long, collaborative, and happy careers— so we might as well be friends!
